Todd McLaughlin of Native Yoga: Practice, Presence, Consistency

Todd McLaughlin of Native Yoga: Practice, Presence, Consistency

Todd McLaughlin is a veteran yoga teacher and massage therapist. He and his wife, Tamara, co-founded Native Yoga Center in Juno Beach, Florida, creating a place where strong teaching and a welcoming atmosphere go hand in hand.

When we asked Todd what the hardest part of teaching is, he described it as holding space for every individual while keeping the class moving as one. It means noticing subtle needs, adjusting cues in real time, and balancing clear instruction with compassion. For Todd, teaching is a form of attention. It’s listening closely to energy, injuries, personalities, and fears so each person feels safe, supported, and seen.

That approach shows up in how Native Yoga Center operates. The studio offers depth and variety across styles and levels, including Ashtanga and Mysore-style practice, vinyasa, and breath-focused work. Students can come in for structure, refine fundamentals, and keep developing a practice that lasts. Over time, it becomes more than a class. It becomes a steady place to return to.

We also asked what Todd does when he can tell he’s not at his best, when focus dips or patience runs thin. His reset is simple. He returns to breath awareness, pauses, and anchors back into the fundamentals of yoga. Breath, movement, and mindfulness are the foundation he teaches from, and they’re also the foundation he relies on.

Todd’s “why” comes through in the everyday wins. He talked about seeing students arrive stressed and leave smiling and refreshed. That change is subtle, but it’s powerful. It’s a reminder that consistent practice can shift how you feel in your body and how you move through the day.

Native Yoga Center was created to feel welcoming and community-oriented. Todd and his team focus on personal connection, expert teaching, and options that meet students where they are. The studio also supports ongoing learning through workshops, trainings, and online offerings, so students can deepen their practice and teachers can keep growing. Bodywork offerings, including Thai yoga massage, extend that same care beyond the mat.

When we asked what lesson took him years to learn, Todd came back to humility and curiosity. Authentic teaching grows from continual learning and steady practice. Wisdom and connection develop over time through study, compassionate listening, and showing up consistently. It’s a craft, and it keeps unfolding.

Outside the studio, Todd applies the same mindset to family life. He focuses on creating stability through daily habits of presence, consistency, service, and connection. It’s the same kind of work that creates lasting change in a practice, and it’s the same kind of work that creates a strong home.

We’re grateful to feature Todd McLaughlin in our Spotlight series. He represents what we value at Quinn Henry: commitment, steady effort, and the quiet confidence that comes from doing the work. If you’re in the Palm Beaches, Native Yoga Center is a place to develop a practice that supports you, day after day.
